PattyMade 2012

We walk in the mornings two or three times a week. It's Oregon. It sometimes rains. I wanted a cross-body bag just big enough to carry my iPad AND knitting AND be waterproof, but I couldn't find anything that wasn't too big or too small. This is based on an OOP McCall's pattern, but I made it my own by adding an iPhone case to the strap and a zipper closure. I laminated vinyl to some fabric and voila! waterproof iPad and knitting cross-body bag.

This is a PUD carrier bag. I made it to carry Bill Brown's Pineapple Upside Down cake down to San Jose later this week. I needed something that would support the cake and not elicit the inevitable "Are you going to share?" from TSA and flight attendants. (No, I'm not). The bag is based on a Chirimen bag I saw on a Japanese website (cooljapannow.jp), made from fabric that was intended to be a shirt for Tom, but instead became a bag and skirt.
